How Collaboration Works

Collaboration on creating a family film is always individual, but it has a clear structure. From the very first contact to the final delivery of the work, you will have an overview of every step. During the process we stay in touch, consult everything, and get your approval, so that the final film matches your expectations.

We greatly appreciate if the client can provide as many materials as possible at the beginning – family photos, notes, links, birth, marriage or death dates. We always carefully verify these details, but their submission significantly facilitates our work and helps place the story into the right context. Without basic input data, it is not possible to carry out the research and create the script.

Steps of Collaboration

Initial contact First we get in touch by e-mail and discuss your ideas. You tell me who should be the main character of the film and what the documentary should include.

Detailed questionnaire I will send you a detailed form to collect as much information as possible about your family and your expectations.

Research Based on the basic information, I will conduct initial research. I will find several register records, review available archives, and identify which locations are essential for the story. I will prepare a proposal of what the film might look like.

Submission of all available information I will ask you for all the materials you already have – family trees, photographs, old documents, family letters. The more information I receive, the more accurate and authentic the final film will be.

Terms and conditions We will go over the terms and parameters of the film together. I will prepare an order form that will include price, timeframe, and project scope.

Price calculation Based on the scope and complexity of the story, I will prepare a price estimate. Once we agree on the price and conditions, we sign the order and the work can begin.

The Production Process

During the work we stay in touch. Each step – script preparation, selection of locations, choice of voice for the voiceover – will be sent to you for approval. This way you always have the chance to be part of the process and contribute to the creation of your family documentary.
